Ooh, want to be on the show? Tell us about a time you broke a rule growing up. To help jog your memory, that could be:
a school policy (“no cheating!”)
a code between friends (“no gossiping!”)
a family rule (“no eating junk food“)
a religious commandment (“no sinning“)
a rule of law (“no shoplifting!”)
a narrative you told yourself (“I could never sit at he popular kids’ table“)
a tradition that deserved to be broken (“I staged a protest against my school’s totally sexist dress code.”)

FAQ ABOUT SUBMITTING
WHO SHOULD SUBMIT
We’re seeking participants between ages 10-25. Those under 18 will be required to provide consent from a legal guardian. (There will be some slots for those older than 25, too.)
WHAT TO SUBMIT?
We want stories of moments you broke a rule. All submissions must be about an event that occurred as a teen, tween or kid (basically any moment before age 18). What not to submit? Stories where you are just the eye witness. The best pitches are ones where breaking the rule had a big build up (“I was terrified to do it”)… or a big consequence (“I never expected it to cause such a commotion!”)… or both.
CAN I BE ANONYMOUS?
Yes. We only use first names. Pseudonyms are also used upon request.
WHO’S MAKING THIS?
The series is made for TRAX, a podcast network aimed at tweens from PRX with support from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (yep, the Sesame Street people). It’s produced by Mortified Media, a global storytelling brand.
What Happens Next?
If selected, participants will be interviewed and required to sign an appearance release.
Your story will not be shared in the show without written permission from you or a legal guardian.
Due to the sheer volume of stories we receive, we won’t be able to reply to, interview, or feature everyone who submits (even if we record you). Also, many stories simply may not be right for our show as it might not match our needs at this time.
That said, we read EVERY SINGLE submission. All of them. We love reading your stories. We love seeing people express themselves. So we are excited to hear your submission.
